A huge congratulations to @GetSource, who I had the absolute pleasure of working with for 6+ years. Great hire for @GoDaddy. I hope you get a chance to work on #IndieWeb features for @WordPress! Best of luck. I'm sure you'll knock it out of the park. ๐Ÿ˜€ https://twitter.com/GetSource/status/1047223678218383362
Bloomberg has the tech story of the decade. My goodness! If accurate, the implications are staggering.
Yes! People, please create blogs instead of just Twitter threads. They're so much more enjoyable to read. #OwnYourContent #BlogsForever https://twitter.com/_inside/status/1048258149587853313
Iโ€™m always nervous before Miami-FSU games. Always. My โ€˜Canes are favored by two TDS, are at home in one of the loudest stadiums in the country, and on paper this shouldnโ€™t be close. Go โ€˜Canes! Beat FSU like a drum!๐Ÿคž๐Ÿป ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป ๐Ÿˆ
Little William had a spill tonight while playing at the neighbors house, and is now the proud owner of four stitches just above his left eye. There was a lot of blood, but he was so brave! โค๏ธ
I recently switched to using Firefox and Safari at the same time, with Firefox being used for my work, and Safari for personal. I'm using the excellent Choosy to automatically route links to the correct browser โ€“ https://www.choosyosx.com
Great pro-tip: you can use Choosy to automatically route YouTube links to open in VLC, and never see a YouTube ad again!
Instagram is now gone from my devices forever. Buh-bye. #FacebookIsEvil https://twitter.com/ScottMonty/status/1049336580337545219
Touch / laptop hybrid devices are very likely to replace traditional laptops as primary computing devices. It is awesome to see Microsoft, Google, and Apple all throwing themselves at the problem fully. Competition breeds innovation and better products. https://twitter.com/tomwarren/status/1049693131241865219
Up early for a flight to Seattle. Big announcement today!
Not yet! I have found the Drafts documentation and interface confusing, so for now I still use an action to convert the markdown to rich text and then copy/paste into my posting interface. Iโ€™d love to get something more polished, just havenโ€™t had time!
Finally received my Apple Watch Series 4 on my birthday! Having a hard time configuring a watch face that suits me. Someone needs to make a digital time complication for Infograph!
Georgia Tech has looked so sloppy all football season. Poor execution, fumbles, broken coverages. Just bad all around. Coach Johnson is such a good fit for the program in so many ways, but not sure he survives much longer. ๐Ÿˆ
After some truly awful football yesterday, my wife saved the day with a surprise trip to a hotel in Long Beach and dinner with wonderful friends. Today, brunch and then spa day at Terranea, our favorite local resort. #BirthdayWeekend
Finally made a functioning Micropub action for @DraftsApp. Needs some tweaking, but I should be able to share soon.
I have shared my Micropub action for @DraftsApp to the actions directory โ€“ https://actions.getdrafts.com/a/1QC
This is both really smart and totally bonkers. Thanks a lot, JavaScript! https://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2016/09/windows-10-will-soon-run-edge-in-a-virtual-machine-to-keep-you-safe/
Oh, thank you so much Purdue.
Had a good conversation with a dear friend yesterday. I explained I wouldnโ€™t let my daughter install Facebook Messenger for Kids on her device to communicate with her daughter. The app is insidious. Addicting children to a toxic platform from a morally bankrupt biz.
The Rams are so much fun to watch, on both sides of the football. ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿ‘
Signed up for gigabit internet service, finally. Installation by end of month! A bit disappointing that the upstream is only 35 Mbps, but honestly, gigabit downstream makes me feel like I'm living in the gosh-darned future.
Extremely disappointed in the behavior of the SQLite leadership with regard to Code of Conduct. Tone deaf, insensitive, and unproductive. The good news is that recent developments with Linus Torvalds show that nearly every person can grow/change with continued pressure.
I love my iPhone XS, but I still hate the way that it sits on a table because of the camera bump. I donโ€™t want a case. Someone should make attractive adhesive levelers!
Insightful. Another angle โ€“ we are *all* capable of the exceptional, but some of us are afforded opportunity because of our race, gender, family, etc. If humanity works together to enable each other, we can unlock so much more of our collective potential. https://twitter.com/soniagupta504/status/1054701054695067648
I will never understand why this is controversial. Life isn't a zero sum game. Acknowledging my male privilege and working to enable women is good for the whole world, including men. We can all make progress together, enjoying the benefits as the human race! #HumpdayThoughts
Looking forward to presenting today at #0111CONF. Iโ€™ll be discussing taking some great building blocks - Lambda, Athena, Glue, API Gateway, S3 - for a really fun project. Come say hello!
Implemented support for macOS Mojave's "dark mode" on my website last night before bed. You'll need Safari Tech Preview to test it out, but I think it came out great! Give it a try and let me know what you think.
Really enjoyed our visit to the Hollywood Bowl last night for The Nightmare Before Christmas. It was our first time splurging on box seats, and it was totally worth it. Fantastic show! Danny Elfman, Catherine Oโ€™Hara, Paul Reubens, and Greg Proops were all great. ๐ŸŒด
My favorite part of the show was the masterful use of lighting and projection. Easily the best way to enjoy the film in any context or setting. Spectacular fun!
Lightly following along with the Apple event. New MacBook Air looks great as does the new Mac Mini. But, the star of the show is definitely these new iPad Pro models. Gorgeous!
My only beef with the new iPad Pro? No headphone jack. I didn't really care on the phones, but am sad to see it gone in this device. Minor nit, though, to be honest.
Apple's Product Marketing organization provides so many great examples to learn from. https://twitter.com/ow/status/1057319376662286341
For those of you that have been asking, #Indiepaper for iOS is on the way, thanks to @EddieHinkle. Soon, youโ€™ll be able to save content for later using #Micropub natively on iOS. We are just waiting on Apple! #IndieWeb
It is fun, isn't it?! The only thing that isn't fun about serverless is the silly name ๐Ÿ˜‰ https://twitter.com/etdebruin/status/1057677076159979520
