Watched this episode of Schitt’s Creek last night, and it was hands down the best in the series so far. I’ve been watching and enjoying the show over the past month or two, and until this episode, I’ve not fully grasped the hype. https://cleverdevil.io/2019/schitts-creek-2x13-happy-anniversary#comments
A new episode of Queer Eye every day would be a huge enhancement to my quality of life. I always end up with a smile on my face!
Today was totally exhausting, yet extremely gratifying and productive. All I have energy for this evening is a cocktail and the couch! 🥃 🛋 😴
Next weekend I’m taking William on a camping trip to Catalina island. Tonight, we’ve pitched the new tent in the back yard to practice our camping!
Just started smoking a porchetta. Follow along in real-time at https://🐷🔥.ws/now #cloudsmoke #pigfire #AWS #PutThatInYourCloudAndSmokeIt
The Porchetta turned out quite well! Juicy and delicious. https://🐷🔥.ws/2019/04/08/juicy-porchetta
Given the #marzipan leaks re: Music, Books, TV, et al., I think its time for @gruber to reprise his classic "anthropomorphized brushed metal" series, but this time with an anthropomorphized iTunes.
I know I’m late to the party, but we picked up Super Mario Odyssey for the family Switch, and it’s utterly delightful!
I’ve been so unbelievably busy these past few weeks. I haven’t been able to keep up with my social reader subscriptions, nor have I had a chance to watch the first episode of Game of Thrones, or to edit the latest episode of Two Dads Talking.
That said, I have had the opportunity to take William on a special camping trip to Catalina island, and have been making some very gratifying contributions at work. Headed to SFO now for a biz trip, and I expect I’ll have some quiet evenings to “catch up” on some things.
Fun trip: https://cleverdevil.io/2019/catalina-camping-with-william
Wrapping up my trip to the SF Bay Area with a customer dinner, a good night’s sleep, and a short flight back to LA. I need this weekend to recover!
This episode of Reconcilable Differences was massively fun, in spite of (because of?) it being basically two hours of John Siracusa talking about his refrigerators, old and new. Great show. Highly recommended! https://cleverdevil.io/2019/reconcilable-differences-102-preparing-the-way
I've been struggling with a nasty cold/cough and back pain for a while. Finally had a chance to see my doctor this AM, and have meds and appointments to get me on the mend. Whew!
Added a theme switcher feature to my website. Users can choose from light mode, dark mode, or the default, which is to respect their operating system’s setting. Give it a try at cleverdevil.io and let me know what you think.
Loving my new XDA Oblique keycaps on my home office keyboard. They make my NightFox look and feel significantly better, but I think I've ultimately decided I don't really like the switches. Eventually, I'll have to sell it and get something else...
Still super happy with the "hello" and "courage" keys... https://cleverdevil.io/file/3ac38eddd59b419997cf9dde011f6217/fullsizeoutput_9c4c.jpeg
Really would love a copy of Logic Pro X for podcast production/editing, but I just can't justify the cost. Its a shame that GarageBand doesn't have a real podcast workflow. Perhaps Ferrite will end up on macOS soon to fill the gap...
Thanks for all of the feedback on my Logic Pro conundrum! I've now learned about Hindenburg and Reaper as alternatives. Honestly, Garage Band isn't all that bad, but its missing two things I'd like from Logic: chapter markers and "drop silence."
ICYMI, Eddie and I posted our latest episode of Two Dads Talking last week. Truly fun episode! – https://twodads.fm/2019/04/18/episode-not-just.html
In other news, I picked up an Anker PowerPort Atom PD1 charger last week and I am blown away. Its absolutely tiny, charges my iPhone extremely quickly, and can even charge my 13" MacBook Pro. Highly recommended - https://amzn.to/2DyF3GX
Shedding lots of tears tonight realizing that we are very close to losing our little Winston, the dog that helped me propose to @cleverangel. At over sixteen years of age, he is finally losing his spark. 💔
Thanks for all the kind words about Winston. He's been a special member of our family. He's not gone yet, but is in rapid decline. Grappling with the difficult choice ahead. In the meantime, he's getting lots of love (and some medicine to calm him down) at home.
Taking family pictures with our doggie Winston tonight before we say goodbye to him tomorrow. He’s getting a filet mignon dinner and lots of love. I am going to miss him so much.
He’s gone.
Watching Spider-Verse again, this time with William and Lacey. It gets better each time I watch it. A masterpiece of animation!
On a flight to Boston and enjoying my awesome Anker PowerPort Atom PD1 - https://amzn.to/2ZKPNvy - for charging my laptop and iPhone. Also loving Anker's MFi USB-C to Lightning cable to go along with it - https://amzn.to/2DHmcK6 - much more durable then Apple's.
The Impossible Burger is very good. Fast food represents a significant portion of the environmentally taxing beef consumed globally. Health impact is also significant. A rollout at Burger King is a big deal. 🍔 👑
No, I’m not giving up meat, yet. I prefer sustainable sources, though, and am all-in on replacing our supply with better alternatives, including man-made products, 3D printed “meat,” etc.
Hah, just as I recommend the small Anker Atom PD1, they have released the PD2, which provides *two* ports and 60W. Instabuy. Can't wait to put it in my backpack! – https://amzn.to/2DEjdlD
