To be fair, you wouldn’t actually do that. There are performance, reliability, and HA reasons to spread things out, and storage that dense creates its own issues.

Watched a YT video about KIOXIA’s bonkers 245 TB SSD drives. 10-15 years ago I had a team that built multi-petabyte Ceph clusters using spinning rust, requiring a bunch of servers, high speed networking, and a lot of software. Now you can just slap a bunch of these drives into a server. 😂
