Back from my second viewing of The Last Jedi. Upon reflection, I love this movie. It’s definitely not perfect, but it’s a powerful tectonic shift for the Star Wars universe. I think it makes my top three Star Wars films! Maybe top two.

I noticed so many little touches the second time around. The humor also hits much stronger, and the parts I struggled with on the first viewing improved as I discarded my expectations and bias.

I'll have to rewatch then. It was pretty bad for me

@cleverdevil Top 2 is high praise. I think it'll settle into my top 3 along with Force Awakens and Empire Strikes Back, but need to see it a couple more times first... As you said, it's not perfect, but then none of the Star Wars movies are.

@manton as of right now, my ranking is: Empire, Last Jedi, New Hope, Return of the Jedi, Rogue One, Force Awakens, then the rest. I may swap Rogue One and Force Awakens. They’re pretty close to me.

I love how it blows the future wide open. I have no way to predict what’s next.

I almost feel like it should be the first of a new trilogy.

@cleverdevil @manton I definitely need a 2nd and 3rd showing before ranking The Last Jedi. I enjoyed it but didn’t love it (not yet anyway). It does have its problems.

@kevinwhalen @manton I needed a 2nd viewing to really appreciate it. The first time through was exciting, and energizing, but I didn't know exactly how to feel. The 2nd viewing crystalized my thoughts, and really made it hold together for me.

I liked it, too. The conflict between Kylo Ren and Rey has just begun. Can’t wait to see how this struggle plays out.

@cleverdevil I’m looking forward to my second viewing in the next couple of weeks. That said, I think this is definitely in the top 2, likely the most enjoyable of all Star Wars movies for me

It's the last one I pay to watch. Next episode will be on a plane, if there is not a better option. It's just getting repetitive and I'd rather stop before the power of the franchise is completely destroyed

@sirshannon yeah, the more I think about it, the more I realize how much I love it.

@cleverdevil At least top 3 for me. I think it “fixes” some things from the prequels, is the hard start of the future of Star Wars, and there is nothing I dislike about it that I didn’t dislike in other SW movies.
