Note
Spoiler-free thoughts on The Last Jedi:
- It will be (deservedly) polarizing for long-time fans.
- The Force Awakens was a tribute (to a fault) to A New Hope. The Last Jedi strikes out on its own, wildly different.
- Can you embrace the new? You'll love it. If not? Uh oh.

I have a bad feeling about this ... :-(

I thought it was good, but I don't know many times I'll want to revisit the story. It was a funny, but it was almost too short. Things were rushed and didn't feel as epic to me. Maybe that's because the story didn't feel as if it had a conclusion.

I did appreciate the writers subverting my expectations for a number of scenes.

No matter what, its a fun, and entertaining ride. Keep an open mind. Who knows, maybe you'll love it?

Interesting! I actually found it to be too long, and quite "epic feeling." But, yeah, it definitely suffers from the "Empire Ending," which is not a huge deal to me due to it being in the middle of the trilogy. The humor didn't always work for me, I find General Hux to be completely intolerable, and there was too much "hey, cute creature" for my taste. The story had its moments, but at least one major plot point stretches on far too long.

How'd the kids like it?

I ended up seeing it without them to see if they’d be able to handle it! Answer: probably, but it’s pretty long, so they may get restless.

Jonathan LaCour I do enjoy how General Hux keeps getting body-slammed into furniture by other people in power, though

I think, if I could delete two specific scenes, it was fantastic. But those those scenes were a bit too reminiscent of the prequels.

I think I know which two scenes you’re talking about 😀

Overall though, I really did enjoy it. I think it’ll grow on me with repeated viewings as well, unlike The Force Awakens, which continues to fade in my opinion.

I like how Hux is totally annoying and yet a little competent at his job.

Really enjoyed the movie while watching it then was bummed by the ending. Feeling good about it overall today and appreciative of the risks Rian took do something new. Kylo is a an all time great character. I really like how Rian handled the force. It was too long.

I agree on Kylo. He was fun in the first movie, but they took him to a new level. He is now one of my favorite villains ever. I really liked the movie, but not their take on Luke.
