I've officially deleted my Facebook account, and it will disappear completely from Facebook within 14 days. It feels great.
I hope they go down in flames.

@cleverdevil Congratulations! It's so much more pleasant interacting with you online via your own website anyway. Who needs those unnecessary middlemen?

I’m thinking about what it would take for me to get there. I’m thinking I’ll have to give a pretty far advanced notice to my family, etc. on Facebook. I currently have a form where people can sign up for periodic email updates, I’m thinking about turning that list into a bi-weekly automated email that my website sends out based on actual content types that matter (like Articles, Photos, etc). I can create some templates for each content type and then include the collection of all the articles, photos, etc posted in the bi-weekly email. It’s a way for family from Facebook to continue following me without me having to manually change anything significant in how I post things.
