Just heard that @textism is gone and I'm gutted. Believe it or not, Dean (and his cohort @jasonh) were pivotal in shaping my view of computing and, in many ways, my career. Rest well, Dean. The world will miss you.

@cleverdevil I'm trolling through the wayback machine for textism posts that I vaguely remember, as well as my own "my first textpattern" post from way back in the day. No lie, his writing, then Textpattern, then TextDrive, and the communities around them, are foundational to an awful lot of what I've done since then. I worried about the way he seemed to fall off the map years ago. Peace.

@alans goodness, yes. Dean’s sardonic wit and writing, along with his passion for publishing, combined with Jason Hoffman’s technical obsession created a special community. Lightning in a bottle.
