Seeing a lot of my Twitter connections considering abandoning the platform. I’m getting close to that myself. It’s becoming abundantly clear that Twitter’s values don’t align with mine.

@cleverdevil i go over there once a week to see if there has been anything engaged with on the stuff that gets cross posted to the various accounts I have from the various sources I post to ... it takes me about two minutes to check everything!

Yeah, if I could wholesale pick up everyone I care about and move them to something less determined to be awful, I would…

I took all of 2017 off and rarely engage much since. Social media is a disease ruining society.

It’s been on my to-do list forever to go back to self-hosted text. I’ve been re-reading Dean’s old Textism entries as a sort of pep rally.

I recall when IT&T was causing all sorts of trouble in Latin America, but I didn't stop using my phone. Fortunately, we still get to express a lot of ideas despite the idiocies we see web surfing. Some of those ideas are even getting better, believe it or not. Tweet on, persist.

See you on mastadon?

Nope, I stick to the #IndieWeb, where I own my content on my own website. Then, I syndicate out to great platforms like Micro.blog.

Neat. Is mastadon-esque federated stuff not #IndieWeb?

I think it *can* be, depending on how you look at it, as you can self-host and federate a Mastadon instance. That said, I find it quite complex/confusing compared to "this is my website, here are some feeds."
