The question is: can ads be done in a non-scummy way? I think yes, but your point is well-taken. Their principles and values have to override the demand for growth.

I like how this will focus folks more on making people want to use products, and less on just making people want to buy products. Since word of mouth is more powerful than any ad, I feel like advertising inherently holds diminished value in a globally connected society.
