If you’re going to bring me a paper straw, just don’t bring it at all.

Have you read the story about the kid (and questionable statistic) that started this whole thing?

Nope. But I’m sure it’ll make me want to punch the kid.

Super heart. Paper straws are worse than no straws. They’re still wasteful, but are also terrible.

You guys haven't had straw-carrying pouches implanted yet? Wow. I thought *I* was behind the times. Most PPO insurances will cover the procedure.

@handy we have some of those at home, and they’re great. Carrying them around isn’t practical, though. I get that disposable plastic straws can be wasteful, but I think we’re in a phase of overreaction about them, and instead of reducing our usage of them, we’re just not using them at all and replacing them with alternatives that, frankly, are awful to use. I’d prefer to see restaurants and bars just not provide straws unless they’re requested, and then to use traditional plastic disposable straws.
@handy interesting, but I just don’t want to carry anything else with me. When I want a straw at a restaurant, I’d like them to supply me with a good one. Paper straws are objectively bad. If they give me a clean, resusable (metal or silicone or whatever) straw, that’s fine. Disposable plastic straws would also be fine. I rarely want a straw, but when I do, I want it to be good 😀

@cleverdevil ok so those are a little big to pocket. How about if they were more like AirPods? www.amazon.com/ dp/ B07SJHG6NT/ ref= cmswrcpapii7IkjDbZMG5281
