Our new puppy Eliza moved in today, and we also finished moving Colette and William into their own rooms. Still plenty of work to be done organizing their stuff, but we are off to a good start. Daddy has had quite enough of assembling furniture.

@cleverdevil Random Known questions, I'm having a whole bunch of trouble getting it up and running with Hostgator! I'm receiving mod_security errors which I've never seen before, and I've seen PHP break in a lot of ways lol. This happens when I go to change my site configuration settings. Also does Known have a built-in editor for adding forms like newsletter subscriptions? OK one last question then I won't bother you anymore. Does it offer import from RSS feeds? I have blogs on write.as that I could potentially migrate to a Known instance, but that would probably require straight RSS import. Not only that, but I'd like to use it for a lifestream kind of thing, as in bring posts in from other feeds. Lol I'm scattered everywhere on the web. OK wow that was long, sorry!

@ladyhope lots of great questions! Here are some answers for you: I’ve never seen the mod_security issue, but I also don’t use Hostgator. You’re likely best opening a ticket with their support on that one. Known doesn’t have a built-in editor for creating forms for things like newsletters, but it does have a plugin that you can enable which lets you create static “pages,” and you can paste in HTML there to do custom things if you like. Yes, you can import from an RSS file or a WordPress export. Hope this helps!

@cleverdevilThey fixed it for me on my first instance, but my plan is to install others so not sure how it's going to go.

@cleverdevil Well they said they whitelisted it, but it's still giving me the same error.

@ladyhope can you copy/paste the error somewhere? Perhaps you could open a ticket on the Known GitHub project with the error to get some more eyes on it.

@cleverdevil I did this already. Well sort of. It was before this, when we were having problems with mod rewrite. github.com/idno/know... there's a server issue that was causing that.

@cleverdevil Just for kicks I signed up for a month-long Dreamhost plan with a different domain. I want to see if it works any different. Problem is i've never used SSH or any of that before. I've also never done an install from Github, I downloaded one of the zip packages that was dated 7/21/2019.

@ladyhope I’m running an instance of Known on Dreamhost and aside from having to update the php version all has worked well.

@jeremycherfas One of the uploads just failed for some reason.

@jeremycherfas I was using the web FTP thing to install it, which is weird because it doesn't explain where it's going to end up on the server.

@ladyhope I haven't used the webftp thing. What I normally do is create the subdomain in which it will live, and then SFTP into that. So, I have stream.jeremycherfas.net and that is where Known lives for me.

@jeremycherfas I wanted it to be in the root directory.

@ladyhope Shouldn’t make any difference.
