Spider-Man: Far From Home was delightful. My favorite comic book hero from my youth is *finally* getting treatment that he deserves. Gyllenhaal was excellent as Mysterio, and the mid- and post-credit scenes make me excited for the next phase of the MCU.

I loved the signs in the background in the mid-credit scene that read “we’re excited to show you what’s next”. Classy way to break the fourth wall.
I didn’t notice that! Welp, I guess I am going to have to go see it again, which I totally can because I signed up for AMC Stubbs A-List for the summer 😀
Ohhh that’s great to hear! I can’t wait to see it!
@EddieHinkle AMC Stubbs A-List FTW! (Followup for TDT coming soon).
@cleverdevil What was your interpretation of the post-credits scene?
@grayareas so many directions things could go! But, seeing J. Jonah Jameson is a pretty good sign that we are in for some Peter Parker smear campaigns.
@cleverdevil Agreed. Not sure about the Nick Fury end scene. I guess they’re launching the Galactic Marvel Cinematic Universe, maybe? Feels like they’ll be side-by-side with the regular MCU and cross streams regularly.
@cleverdevil I hope Mysterio isn’t really dead. Gyllenhaal is up there with Hiddleston and Goldblum as most entertaining Marvel villians.
Maybe they’d even let him go full Okja next time! //@grayareas
@grayareas I’m thinking that the multi-verse is going to become an increasingly important part of the MCU, which would certainly align it with a few different branches of Marvel’s historical comic catalog. I have to say, I am pretty excited to see where it all leads. Hard to know for sure! The MCU universe is quite different from the comics in many ways, and they’ve been unafraid to blaze their own trail. I think that makes the movies all the better!
@Bruce I think Gyllenhaal is an amazing actor, and they will need some very strong performances from new blood to replace those who didn’t make it out of Endgame and Far From Home.
