The ancient family iMac is on the fritz and I am unsure if it'll recover. The good news is that I've now moved my homebridge server over to my Synology NAS, so that's working again. Sadly, the iMac was my home Plex Media Server. Still not sure what to do about that...

@cleverdevil Hope you have copies of the media on the Plex. It’s just a thing, but I still mourn over lost computers. Never heard the “on the Fritz” before, so I looked it up on urban dictionary, and found several explanations for the origin, but I still wonder the true meaning of this.

@odd thankfully all 10TB of the media is on my Synology NAS, synced up to Backblaze, and to Google Drive. Triple backups 😀 I’m still hoping I can rescue this iMac!

@cleverdevil Hope you’ll get it running again! Multiple backups seem unnecessary - until they don’t. 😌🤞

@oyam yes, but poorly. It’s woefully underpowered and won’t do any transcoding. That said, I’ve already got a second Plex Media Server running on it as a backup now 😉
