I have successfully installed and configured pi-hole 5.0 beta on my Synology in a docker container. Bye, bye Eero ad blocking.
Per-client blocklists work great, but I still wish I could pick per-client upstream DNS.

This can be done! I use the pi-hole for DHCP+DNS, then set rules in /etc/dnsmasq.d/03-bypass.conf.

AdGuard home claims to support this, haven’t tried it myself so can’t speak about it but Home Assistant Community has switched from pihole to AdGuard Home. github.com/AdguardTeam/Ad…

Cool! Unfortunately, I want to avoid using the pi-hole for DHCP, if possible... but I may change my mind over time :)
