Don’t expect to find a “Twitter replacement.” You don’t need one. The number of people you actually interact with and read on Twitter is tiny. Find smaller spaces to connect more closely. Like blogs!

I agree that the actual interaction occurs in other spaces, but for me Twitter is one of the best places to find out about those other spaces: "Hey writer-I-like is interacting with person-I-don't know. What's their deal?" often leads to finding other valuable spaces.
