Human rights are universal. “Leave it to the states” is a ludicrous position.

@pratik indeed, that’s their long game. I still see a lot of people using states rights as an excuse, and it’s a slippery slope that concerns me greatly.

Local control is great for solving day-to-day problems and delivering services close to the people that needed them. Creating a small divisions of people so that local government can restrict them and criminalize their choices is not it.

@cleverdevil The courts are not (nor is anyone else I'm aware of) saying "leave human rights to the states." They're trying to figure out what are the unenumerated rights protected by the constitution. But there are reports of people voting with their feet — in both directions.
