It’s incredibly frustrating to see promising technology abused in ways that make the world worse. AI is having a moment, but hucksters and bad actors are creating distrust and anger. Healthy skepticism is good, but don’t cede the potential of AI to these jerks.

@agentultra My company has done dozens of amazing projects that have helped our customers do things that were impossible before AI.
We have a customer with thousands of hours of documentaries that they wanted to go global with, but traditional translation services were so expensive that they couldn’t bring their valuable work to the world.
We’ve helped them translate into many languages, at a fraction of the cost, and now they can access a global audience.
Just one of many examples.
@jonathan I think that's just what happens to every new technology currently. VR would have been cool, but Meta made it useless. Virtual currencies had a lot of promise for better online payments, until the cryptocurrency companies ruined it. Generative machine learning has lots of great uses, but OpenAI has turned it into an industrial scale garbage generator for the Internet.
