Note
I am a poster art guy. I pick every single poster for every movie and show. I also carefully curate my own collections. I use Kometa (nee Plex Media Manager) to apply posters and overlays.

@cleverdevil 60s movie posters are just FLAWLESS imo. filmartgallery.com/collectio... what are your favorites?

@jonathan I just moved my PLEX to a data center because I'm moving in a few months and many people use it and I wanted it to have a good connection. But I am also looking at Jellyfin as a place to store my Physical Disc collection after ripping it because optical drives are becoming hard to find. Have you found anything that helps with managing the extras and file naming of those, or am I going to spend weeks doing it manually?

@edolnx I haven’t delved deep on that front yet. I just pointed Jellyfin at my Plex library on my NAS and let it do its thing. First order of business was collections and cover art, which I have automated now. Extras are a lower priority still, but I expect I will get to it eventually if Plex keeps up their regression.

@edolnx If I am to switch completely to Jellyfin, I’ll need to create an alternative to Kometa, or contribute Jellyfin support, which is apparently a top requested feature. I have a bunch of scripts I’ve cobbled together over the years that maintain all of my poster art as sidecar files adjacent to media files. This would be trivial to add Jellyfin support to.

@jonathan I didn't really see a good way of dealing with filenames and contents of things like DVDs, BDs, UHD-BD, etc. Especially for extras and series. Was seriously considering making a public database to contribute that info by disc ID - similar to CDDB but for video. No content, just metadata to help folks doing the same thing. No idea if it would be useful to anyone else, most folks don't seem to care about the BTS/Extras
