So I wrote a script that uses Plex as the source of truth for collections and artwork, and then uses the Jellyfin API to mirror them within Jellyfin. Game changer!

I am a poster art guy. I pick every single poster for every movie and show. I also carefully curate my own collections. I use Kometa (nee Plex Media Manager) to apply posters and overlays.

I now have a Jellyfin server pointed at the same NAS share as Plex. It’s a backup, for now, but I have started using it as the source for my CoreELEC box rather than Plex. This has driven the need to build a few things.

Note
Plex continues to drift from self-hosted media server to ad-supported streaming app. I am losing faith, so have started to experiment with Jellyfin. It’s not as pretty as Plex, but it’s committed to being the self-hosted media server I want.
